Entering year 37 in Catholic Education, I am blessed to start my fifth year at St. Rose of Lima School. After 30 years as a full time Catholic School teacher for the Archdiocese of New York, I relocated to New Jersey where I sought my NJ substitute teaching certification and briefly worked as a part time substitute in the NJ public school system. My love of Catholic schools brought me back to Catholic education in September of 2020 when I began working at St. Rose of Lima School.
During my full time years as a Catholic school educator I taught the upper elementary and Junior High students. My specialty and passion was Social Studies, though I taught Religion, Reading, English and Spanish as well over the years. I proudly accepted the Golden Cross Award from the Archdiocese of New York in April of 2017 shortly before my retirement from full time teaching at Blessed Sacrament School in Staten Island, New York. As the Administrative Assistant to the Principal, I have a new understanding and appreciation for all of the work that gets done behind the scenes enabling a Catholic school to provide an enriching academic and morally sound education. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I have been given in my current role. I am proud to be part of the St. Rose of Lima family. As a huge proponent of Catholic education and a firm supporter of my faith, I can happily say that I am where I am truly meant to be.
